Toto is coming to the Warner Theater in DC on November 8th.

Toto was formed in Van Nuys (Los Angeles) in 1977 by Steve Lukather (guitars, vocals, and piano), David Paich (keyboards and vocals), Jeff Porcaro (drums and percussion), Steve Porcaro (synthesizers and vocals), David Hungate (bass guitar and guitar), and Bobby Kimball (vocals and keyboards). The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists Steve, David, Steve Porcaro, Joseph Williams (vocals), Shannon Forrest (drums), and Shem von Schroeck (bass guitar). When on tour, the line up also includes Lenny Castro (percussion) and Warren Ham (saxophone and backing vocals). Over the years, their musical style has spanned many genres such as pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B, blues, and jazz. They’ve had a stellar career with 14 studio albums, 6 live albums, 8 compilation albums, 46 singles, 1 soundtrack album (for the 1984 film Dune), and they’ve sold over 40 million records worldwide. They’ve received many accolades including 6 Grammy Awards (for Producer of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Vocal Arrangement for Two or More Voices, Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocal(s), Album of the Year, and Best Engineered Recording – Non-Classical). They were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2009.
